ProWein (Düsseldorf, Germany, 17−19 March 2019) is the World’s most important business platform for the international wine and spirits sector. Over 6,870 exhibitors from 64 countries provided a unique global overview of the current wine and spirits ranges at ProWein in Düsseldorf in 2018. Half the exhibitors came from Italy and France, followed by Germany, the New World, Austria, Spain and Portugal. Over 60,000 trade visitors made use of this platform to place orders and gather information.
Alimentaria (Barcelona, Spain, 16−19? April 2019) manages more than 150,000 m2 of net exhibition space, 5,000 exhibitors and 200,000 buyers.
VinItaly (Verona, Italy, 7−10 April 2019) is the biggest trade show for the wine industry in Europe. Statistics point that almost 4,400 exhibitors and a total of 150,000 visitors attended the event in 2018.
Vinexpo Bordeaux (Bordeaux, France, 13−16 May 2019) 2017 featured around 2,400 exhibitors showcasing wines from 40 different countries. There were 40,500 visitors who came from 150 countries and attended over 96 different conferences and tastings throughout Vinexpo.
ViniSud (Montpelier, France, 11−13 February 2019), is the International showcase for the World’s leading wine region, which alone accounts for 29% of global production. Each event brings together most Mediterranean wine producers (1,500 exhibitors) and 30,000 trade buyers from across the continents. ViniSud ranks amongst the world’s TOP 5 trade events for buyers. This exhibition is satellited by VinoVision Paris (Paris, France, February 11−13) 500 exhibitors and WWM (Paris, France, 7−10 February 2019), representing 1,000 producers
FENAVIN (Madrid, Spain, 7−9 May 2019) is a national Spanish wine fair. Only wines and wine-based drinks of Spanish origin are presented to a qualified audience in the exhibition centre. With an estimated participation of 1500 exhibitors, almost all Spanish wine regions are covered.
London Wine Fair (London, UK, 13−16 May 2019) welcomed over 14,000 of the wine trade to its 38th edition. Featuring over 14,000 wines from 32 countries, innovative tastings, critical masterclasses and a host of outstanding features, the show is an unmissable destination for anyone in the industry.
Bar Convent (Berlin, Germany, 8−10 October 2018) has grown into one of the leading international trade fairs for the bar and beverages industry with a total of 12,217 visitors in total, including 1,500 speakers and exhibitors. Each year the «Who's Who» of this industry’s German and European representatives gather in Berlin to make new contacts, find out about new product innovations and attend seminars to deepen their expertise.
Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair (Hong Kong, China, 8−10 November) showcases a large selection of wine, beer and spirits to local trade representatives from Hong Kong and Asia. The event draws around 1,000 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors from over 75 countries. Wine duties in Hong Kong were eliminated in 2008 creating a huge boom in the HK market and the Wine Fair organized by the HKTDC has really benefited from the recent growth. A must attend event for any brand looking to enter Hong Kong.
There are some interesting local trade fairs in France: Loire Valley Wine Trade Fair (Nantes) with 300 exhibitors, La Revue du vin de France (Paris) with 60,000 wines for degustation and Le Wine Lab (Paris). Many independent wine makers in France belong to the Independent Wine growers club which holds wine fairs across France each year. This is an opportunity to meet the winemakers, who not sell all their wine to a negociant or brand wines from multi-nationals or supermarkets.
The exhibition FIVI Wine Market (Piacenza) expects about 500 exhibitors from all regions of Italy: the agricultural companies associated to FIVI — Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers).
